| AG-ELLE Spring Hat Luncheon |
March 8, 2009 |
Fife N Dekel, 9114 - 51 Avenue NW Edmonton |
 |
Braving some of the coldest temperatures and worst road conditions of this century, AG-ELLE women came together in their best spring hats on March 8 to celebrate International Women’s Day in Edmonton, Alta.
Attendees enjoyed Alberta-made wine and lunch, spring fashion show and inspiring interviews with leading women in the industry. To make the event even more memorable, four local men welcomed and served the ladies – MLA Dave Quest, Leduc County Councillor John Whaler, Kevin Melnyk and Brock Overman.
The Fife N’ Dekel cafe graciously provided the location and food for the event, showcasing many Alberta products, including: Josephburg saskatoons, McKay’s ice cream, Ellison flour and Prairie mushrooms. In addition, en Santé Wines provided delicious organic fruit wine and Shallow Creek Nurseries donated a variety of their jams and jellies to go with biscuits. The tables were adorned with beautiful live flower centerpieces from Stocks Greenhouse. Featured in the fashion show were spring pieces from Key Lime Active Wear and Bellamaas Women’s Wear, both located in Sherwood Park; Foxy Rocks of Red Deer; Optionelle by Brenda Poloz and Silpada jewelry from Erica Newsome.
